Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about passenger hot laps, safety gear, paddock attire, terminal speeds, and booking procedures at Daytona and Sebring.

Q01

What is a Track Day Passenger Hot Lap Experience?

A passenger hot lap experience puts you directly into the co-driver's seat of a modern, track-prepared sports car (such as a 625+ HP Corvette Z06, Shelby GT350R, or Camaro SS 1LE) driven by an experienced, qualified track driver. You experience professional road racing cornering speeds, threshold braking, and triple-digit speeds on real circuits like Daytona International Speedway.

Q02

How fast do the cars actually go on the track?

At Daytona International Speedway, terminal speeds exceed 160 MPH on the tri-oval and front/back banking sections, depending on vehicle horsepower and track conditions. At Sebring, cars regularly reach 145-160 MPH on the long backstraight into Turn 17.

Q03

What safety equipment is provided for passengers?

Safety is our number one priority. Every passenger is provided with a fresh, sanitary head sock and a Snell/DOT race-approved full-face motorsport helmet. All vehicles feature factory or FIA-compliant multi-point restraint systems, dynamic stability controls, and certified track inspections.

Q04

How long does each hot lap ride session last?

A standard full session lasts approximately 30 minutes total. This includes driver briefing and strapping in, a 1-lap warm-up phase to inspect track surface grip, 8 to 10 full-throttle hot laps at racing speeds, and a dedicated cool-down lap to safely manage brake and tire temperatures.

Q05

Do I get a video recording of my hot lap?

Yes! High-definition onboard multi-angle video is included with our passenger hot lap sessions so you can relive every high-speed apex and share your run with friends and family.

Q06

Can my family and friends come along to watch?

Yes! Track days are family-friendly community events. Guests have access to the infield paddock, spectator viewing areas, garage bays, and pit road viewing decks during designated hours. Kids love hearing the engines and taking pictures next to the cars.

Q07

What should I wear on the day of the event?

Closed-toe shoes (sneakers or driving shoes) and long pants (jeans or track pants) are strictly required for all track passengers and hot-pit entry. Comfortable cotton shirts are recommended. Loose jewelry, sandals, and open-toe footwear are not allowed in active hot areas.

Q08

Are there minimum age or height restrictions for passengers?

Yes. Due to safety harness geometry and motorsport insurance regulations, passengers must typically be at least 18 years of age (or 16 with a signed parental waiver depending on the sanctioning body) and must fit securely within the vehicle's bucket seat and safety restraint system.

Q09

What happens if there is rain or a red flag condition on track?

If active weather or a track incident causes a yellow or red flag stoppage during your session, the remaining laps are resumed as soon as course officials clear the circuit, or rescheduled to a subsequent run group during the day.

Q10

Where are TrackDayFun events held?

We primarily run at Daytona International Speedway (Daytona Beach, FL) on the 3.81-mile Rolex 24 Road Course and Sebring International Raceway (Sebring, FL) on the 3.74-mile Historic 12-Hour Course, with select events at Homestead-Miami Speedway and Las Vegas.
